im a newbie
hi bought a fiat ducto 1.9td 1996 model two weeks ago new to motorhomes quite high mileage,was ok at first,getting quite a lot of blue smoke in traffic and tickover,does anyone have any ideas,my garage say it is valve stem oil seals,which they are replaceing,is this common for these vehicles,any advice would be appreciated,

A clogged air filter can cause blue smoke.
Plus, You normally get a lot of smoke under acceleration after periods of light loads if the cylinder bores/oil control rings are worn.
Cant be too bad or it would have failed the MOT visible smoke test.

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
Mine does it all the time, not so much blue, but overfueling smoke. Gets better as the engine warms up. Always comes in OK with the MOT though.

im a newbie
hopefully valve stem oils seals will do it,it came all the way from sommerset to lancashire no problems,put it down to newness issuses,

many many years! since I was a kid
change the oil first along with oil and air filters and see if that helps. the same symptoms with a dirty, carboned up engine
