Mine is a 1991old Hymer camp 51 and yes, it gets stuck now and then , and even more frequently since I've had the kitchen window changed. My solution (but I am down south west France), is to leave that specific window in the sunshine. Usually the heat expends the metal parts and then pfewww.... down it goes (or up if needed by all means)!
In winter I use a hairdryer to warm it up a bit , and dry out the little bit of damp due to condensation.
Have a try and let us know!

silicon lubricant spray is your new friend with plastic moving parts. replacement catches are still about if you contact magnums or olearys
