We are thinking of visiting Blenheim Palace on route in our Swift Escape, 7.41 long and 2.31 wide. Its the main entrance we are hoping to use, off the A44 Oxford road. Will this an easy excursion, parking etc?

Had a quick look on google maps and it looks easy (few tree branches but nothing dramatic)

We went last year not in the motorhome and my recollection is the entrance is a reasonable size and plenty of parking available

If you want to get into real bit of history at the palace, lookout for the large cedar trees by the lake. One in particular is very old and knarly. Go and stand under it, look up first at the finery of it's branches then at the ground below, and know you're standing right where Jim Brown, your's truly, was conceived (y)

Possibly more information than we needed :ROFLMAO:
It's on our list of places to go and now......

Unless they've altered the entrance we got in there a few years ago in our very wide Bailey.

Did your parents want to make it sound romantic, or was it maybe the night before in the back of the Austin A30, or the night after around the back of the Dog and Duck ? :whistle2: :ROFLMAO:

A little memory of mine. I'm the slim, extremely good looking, suave and sophisticated guy in blue at the front. Obviously a very old picture 😞

Somewhere in that bunch is no1 son. It was his first time on the battlefield. He is now an officer himself.

I am surprised that there is no blue plaque there to commemorate the act :ROFLMAO:

Perhaps we should start a Government petition to have one erected. We would only need 100,000 signatures to have it debated in Parliament.

Bloody hell Jim, you've got a good memory !!!

Plenty of room at all 3 gates (Unlikely you would find the 3rd) I always find it fascinating that when these buildings were constructed all those years ago they knew how big our LGV/PSV's would be in 2022 and built the gates just in some cases big enough

We were there last year. The entrance …. and exit, are fine for MHs

I know where the a fourth is but it’s only a foot entrance for locals. !

I know the tree that you're talking about. It used to be a gooseberry bush, unless I'm mistaken. :giggler: :giggler:

I was born in a castle, Lennox Castle to be precise, near Lennoxtown, seven miles north east of Glasgow.
How many can say that? :giggle:
It was a maternity hospital until 1964, then a psychiatric hospital until it closed in 2002 :(

I was born in 1958, thought I'd say
