we are thinking of changing our m/h and we are debating the pro's and cons .

The big questions are, do they smell, and secondly how easy are they to empty ?

Help and thanks,
Tim

Shouldn't smell if you use the correct chemics and they usually empty with a tap on the end of the pipe. Lots of sites have "run over" grids in the floor, or empty into a container and flush away in a chemical dispersal point.

Has the "advantage", that you can connect a Macerator, and pump to a more distant outlet without moving the van. I used to get a minimum of 25 metre, and sometimes much more.
As for Smell, sometimes the vent pipe vapour can be drawn back into the van on the move, Closing roof lights mitigates that and there are devices to stream the vapours astern!, IF it is an issue.

Never had an issue with ours... And on the odd occasion there was a bit of a niff when using the loo, we just chucked a couple of extra bio washing tablets in...

We never use "chemicals" as such just bio washing tablets, the cheaper the better :)
