Love our "privacy glass" No they don't reduce the light inside. Can watch your neighbours without having to hide behind the curtains!!

Our last van was an Autosleeper PVC with privacy glass, funniest incident we had was when parked up at Falkirk wheel, a bus driver on his break came up to the windows and peered in with his nose practically touching the glass . He got a bit of a shock as I crept along and popped up on the other side, I did have a giggle. Our present van just has curtains, not half s much fun:D2

Any film on a window will reduce the light that can pass through it, the question is by how much and if this bothers you. My guess would be about 5-8% based on some testing I've done for other applications but I'd doubt that would be an issue for anyone.

At the risk of going off topic, how do you open the side windows in vans like that? Are the dark bits hinged?

We had tinted side windows on the Adria, but our new Burstner has clear ones. We'll have to keep our kit on in the new van

WE love the privacy that tinted windows offer on our AS Kingham and yes they do reduce the incoming light just a little but then this is compensated by the three clear plastic roof lights.

Not all the side windows open on the Kingham. If you zoom in on the OP's picture and look closely at the forward most side window, there is a small square panel that pops in and slides open. There is a similar one in the sliding door window on the nearside.

We had Seitz privacy windows in our Elddis.
They were bloody horrible.
You couldn't see the sunsets and had to turn on the lights well before it got dark. It wasted battery power and once you turned on the lights inside, the glass became see through anyway!
Happier without them.

Many years towing and Moho since 2004, presently Adria Coral 690SP Platinum.
Got 'smoked' glass or blackened windows on our new Adria. Something surreal about sitting on the bog watching what goes on outside when
no one can see in. Unless the lights on of course and then you just shut the blinds.

We've got top hinged windows on our PVC which are quite heavily tinted, it is very difficult to see in them at all but easy to see out, don't quite know how it works but it does! Wish they were sliding windows though - we had some in our previous PVC and do miss them, it was nice being able to have them open when travelling to keep the dogs cool in the back.
