Last year we stayed at Camping Schwarzwaldhorn in the village of Simonswald. It's a beautiful area, with lovely walks. The fees include a free pass for the trains and also free entry to the village swimming pool, which was huge: http://www.vanvoyage.co.uk/2016/07/black-forest-silence.html

We stayed in the Acsi site in Freiburg and yes it is lovely and walking distance from the town centre but they do pack you in during busy times.

If you like a countryside site on the edge of the black forest area the Acsi site in Dornsetten is nice. Very clean and a bit more room.

We stayed at camping sandbank on lake tittisee, got a brilliant pitch right next to the lake. Also later on a bunch of Russians turned up, and we sat out until the very early hours drinking their somewhat dubious vodka! :D

Hi.
Stopped at Belchenblik camping site, very nice, clean, cafe, restaurant, hot meal take away if ordered earlier.
Hire cars brought to and collected from site. Schaffenhausen falls? Sure we did this, and a little spin through Switzerland (Had forgotten Passport) drove in and waved at customs as they stood there waiting for us to stop....We did not(y),coming out,we were pulled over, big lad with gun on hip asks for...Passports. Knowing they were still back in the c/van i went through the motions of finding them. He let us go,after looking at my "Derbyshire OAP Gold Card" He had to let us go,because if he had held us up any longer,he would have wet himself laughing:ROFLMAO: OAP low cunning.
On the way up to the Schaff...<s falls,we passed an old "Railway" type sidings with some nice old stuff on/in.
Enjoy.
