I whould like to fit one of the following bike racks.

Fiamma 77 lift

Thule omni-bike lift

Any one ever used one or the other

In our experience whilst they are a good idea the Fiamma one is not man enough for the job and we would not fit one.

The Thule one we cannot comment.

Totally agree with Peter the Fiamma offering is a joke. I had one of these and was amazed they dare sell them. I have big issues with most of the Fiamma products and refuse to buy them now.
After the Fiamma self destructed I purchased a Thule, much better. Sturdy construction and quality components. There is really no comparison as the Thule wins hands down. Only thing to check is the extra weight of the rack + bikes + tow bar (if fitted) on the rear end and the increase due to the pendilum effect.
