OK Fellow RVers,

I have a bike rack that goes into the 2" receiver on our RV's. However, I now have the trailer hitch in this receiver so there is nowhere for the bike rack.

So without doing drastic work to the RV, where do you put your bikes?

Best regards

Chris

If you don't want to mess about mounting racks on the back of the RV or the ladder, you could use a "Combo Stack Bar" (sounds like a burger :roflmto: )

One point worth noting........ You Lose 1/3 of Both The Towing Capacity and Tongue Weight of Your Hitch but as you are only towing half a Mini you should be OK ::bigsmile:

Hi Chris,
This is the system I use and it works really well. The pushbike rack is a Fiamma & the motorbike rack is a Hydralift it carries up to 200kgs comfortably. The bike is a 650 Kawasaki Versys. If I was doing it again I would probably make a piggyback bracket for the reciever and carry the pushbikes lower. See loads in America carried like this but only with a car on tow the problem with a m/cycle would be space between the bike & the rear of the RV. The only problem with mine is they can be a pain to lift on & off at the height they are. As it happens I always have a stepladder in the locker but if not it would be very difficult.
Hope this helps.

Hi I had a similar problem on the back of my Monaco I simply made up another towing hitch/bracket and mounted it by replacing the pin that holds the tow hitch in place with a nut and bolt, this also helped to tighten up the tow hitch in the square tube which did have some slack.

Here is a pic

Thats exactly what I was talking about Pat.
You can buy them in Camping World in the states but easy enough to make your own. :thumb:

Thanks all,

Great to see there is a product that will do the job.

As the bike rack goes into a 2" receiver as well the 'Combo Stack Bar, Burger' sounds great ::bigsmile:

Have you got one Linda? Get in the post today so I have it for the weekend?

Regards

Chris

I am getting a motorbike rack from Linda (will ring you:Blush::RollEyes:) but they look awfully close to the ground.

My large tow bar was a pain in the neck grounding.
