Bike Rack for Garage (1 Viewer)

To help keep things stable and tidy, I was thinking of putting a floor mounted bike rack in the garage for our two ebikes.

Has anyone else done this, and what did you use. Looking for minimum weight and maximum stability, at a good price .. I am from gods own county/country after all. The bikes will be strapped down to try and limit movement when travelling.

Don't want to remove the wheels. Easy roll in and out as life needs to be simple.

Was thinking along the lines of the below. Just want to wheel them into the garage with handlebars down and wheel straight into rack, fixed to floor

Then do you need anything at all? Just put some protective pieces of cushions or something between the bikes and bungee them together ? Cant get much cheaper than that.

If you use a couple of the supports you've mentioned and a single centre pole you can roll the bikes in then just secure them to the pole to stop them moving about.

2 or 4 substantial zip ties to cargo rings. Good velcro strap around wheels securing them to rack. Cargo straps over bikes securing them. Never move. First bike in front wheel first. Second rear wheel first.

The video above is 99% the way we secure ours, off the shelf bike rack (as video) then the same straps but ours are just looped around the rack itself instead of adding the cargo rings. We take 5 adult bikes like this.

We put that one in our Carthago garage quick and easy to install using 4 brackets. Suggest checking the height of the bikes though as my gravel bike, sons MTB fit in no problem but my wifes dutch style ebike the handlebars are too high so have to remover the front wheel on that bike.

We loved the look at the Thule unit where the wheel is slightly lower. Ended up due to availability with a Fiamma slide out unit which is brilliant.
Gives you easy access to the bikes for loading/unloading which we do a lot. If on a site for a while we even pop the bikes back in the garage overnight. Not £30 though!

That's. what we have only a 2 bike model. Hold the bikes (2 electric) firmly in place. Never had an issue.

All bike racks take up floor space. Lot less space hungry to strap them to the walls. Just need a couple of anchor loops on wall, place two bikes together and ratchet strap them tightly to the wall - they will not move. Not the dreaded bungies, as mentioned twice above, as these stretch and allow scratching movement.
