Big Upgrade of Forum Software this evening. Disruption Expected (1 Viewer)

From around 7pm this evening we will be working on the server. So the Fun will stop for a few hours. Thereafter we will be working on the forum for a couple of days tweaking and refining the experience, re-writing help files etc so it will be good and solid for the next 5 years. This is a big upgrade, things will break, go missing, be initially confusing. But by the weekend it will be much better (if that's possible )

Here is some of the new features we hope to have up an running by the weekend

• Greatly-enhanced mobile-friendly style, visiting on your phone will be so easy and useable.
• Easier Navigation
• Emoji support
• Retina avatar and smilie support
• Custom thread fields
• Customisable member stats
• A new "what's new" system
• Extended photo and video embedding features
• Quick thread creation
• Massive Blog, showcase and reviews improvements

I know there are a few grumpy buggers among you who hate change.... to you I say, comb your mulletts and go out for a spin in your ford Capri and please wait until at least Sunday before you tell me how crap it is and the old forum was better. . To everyone else, please do shout up in this thread about any issues you have, hopefully by Sunday we'd have addressed all of them. Thanks

The software we run on at the moment went end-of-life last Friday. So while it works now, we won't be protected from any subsequent security vulnerabilities in the future, so have to pull our finger out now.

No need for Siri. I just dictated this. Just click the microphone button bottom right of the iPhone screen keyboard and talk.
