I am doing a long trip in my Hymer this year, countries include Spain, Morroco, Egypt, Syria and Turkey. Can anyone point me in the right direction for insurance, I have been having problems getting quotes for outside of Europe.

Also any reccomendations for a breakdown recovery service for Europe.

Anywhere in Europe Union will not be a problem, Morocco to is easy to get onto your UK insurance, but the others I do not have knowledge of and I think might be a problem.

You might try searching some of these long distance travel holidays to see what they do.

Cannot help with your question but we are looking at planning a similar trip in 2012/13. Have started doing some research but was alarmed at the cost of a Carnet especialy for Egypt. Would be interested in your proposed route and any tips.

I'm doing an overland trip to China by motorcycle next year and have recently been arranging insurance.

Europe no problem but make sure you get a green card especially for Turkey other countries try www.alessie.com trouble is the cost for some of these countries can be horrendous and even if you can get it and you'll still have to buy local insurance at the border. In some countries we'll be travelling through the local insurance is all we'll have and its pretty much worthless.

Not sure if Alssie cover motorhomes but certainly worth a call they are a Dutch company but insure long distance riders from all over the world.

For your breakdown cover ADAC is as good as you will get.
Regarding insurance,thats a tricky one,most out of the way countries will seel you cover at the border but it will only be similar to "road traffic act"in there country.Its very very difficult to get comprihensive cover outside Europe if not imposible.Some specialist truck insurers do it,but Syria is definatly a no no.

Eygpt yoou will need a carnet though RAC beward eygypt is 800% the valuation of your vehicle so you may need to down value it. You can get insurance from bank its a certificate of insurance that yo ucan cover it for than amount, it usually works out at half the price.

ADAC will cover breakdown in morroco and all countries that surround the Mediterraen

Turkey make sure youre covered by insurance for asia turkey, as ours wasnt it was only europe turkey.

I can not help with some of the places you are planning to go, but I found the Caravan Club very competative for Europe which also includes recovery. Pete :thumb::thumb:
