True, but like in the UK they are using a slight slip up to make money. It's not about road safety anymore, it's fundraising.Good, why do you want to speed on holiday….
and on a street like the pictures you shouldn’t be speeding….
Wot Smiff sed, keep to or lower than the limit and they can put up as many cameras as they like.Good, why do you want to speed on holiday….

These restrictions are for Urban roads where accidents involving car verses pedestrian can be reduced.....less fatalities is what they want to accomplish....without doubt many are going to be caught....I drive them daily...watch this space..30kph is a bit low, they've lowered it so 9/10 people will exceed it and they can charge them
Our 30mph limits are more sensible.
Most in town are now 20kph ,same as past schools have always been.30kph is a bit low, they've lowered it so 9/10 people will exceed it and they can charge them
Our 30mph limits are more sensible.
They've also lowered the speed limit to 20kph on some roads, would you be happy to drive at 15kph (9mph)? I wouldn't have thought these lower speed limits would be environmentally friendly anyway or safe if you have to concentrate on your speedometer rather than the road. The speed limit is , a limit, not a target.
It should be possible to habitually drive 5kmph slower than the limit.
Loads of towns in the UK have 20mph limits, e.g. Brighton and Hove apart from a few arterial roads the whole city is 20mph.30kph is a bit low, they've lowered it so 9/10 people will exceed it and they can charge them
Our 30mph limits are more sensible.
The last thing you want to be doing in that road is trying to read a ducato speedo to see whether your doing 19, 20, 21 kph or whatever!
If you are concentrating so hard on your speedometer in order to keep strictly to the 20km/hr in town and you hit a child because of your lack of attention outside of your vehicle, at least you can be content that you were within the permitted speed limit.
What a joke.
Once again, theory trumps practicality!
I can. But not to within 1kph. Can you be that accurate? If you can then please let us know how to do that.I’m assuming your at an age where you’ve been driving for many years and if you are unable to judge roughly what your speed is then please consider giving up driving, I’m sure the kids that accidentally walk into your pathway will appreciate it….
The posts contained information that implies children or other situations can occur along a road with parked cars and other obstructions where people or children could appear in the road, why would you not see the risk and drive accordingly… as said many times the speed limit is not a target…I can. But not to within 1kph. Can you be that accurate? If you can then please let us know how to do that.
It won't reduce accidents, when drivers feel safer they just pay less attention to driving.
Imagine if the speed limit was 1kph you could quite easily get away a with a micro sleep at the wheel this is how risk perception works with humans, there'll always be accidents.
I read an article once, think it was in Belgium or Denmark, the mayor had to reduce accidents through the town centre so he pedestrianised the road and still let cars use it. At first thoughts you might think he's gone mad, but drivers stayed alert to the risk of hitting someone and slowed right down.
