I'm currently on the Pont Aven about an hour from Santander and this morning we have seen: a pod of Pilot Whales, two pods of Common Dolphins (very pretty with yellow down their sides) with one of the pods right next to the ship. Then the highlight a group of 3 or 4 Sperm Whales, confirmed by the on-board Whale Watching Lady. They were some distance away but we watched them dive, lifting their flukes right out of the water.
The trip has started well!

nice...was on a ferry between Corsica and Sardinia a few years ago. in the packed bar and all of a sudden it cleared...ordered a large brandy pronto! as if boats going down I ain't going down sober! walked out onto deck with said brandy & Lah-di-dah, and reason bar had cleared was, there was a massive whale swimming alongside ship on his own probably lost and lonely:cry:
