Best way of accessing ariel from the outside of the van (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

So, I have a leak from the seal around the ariel and I am looking for any tips for removing the ariel so that I can re seal it.

The van in question is a Sprinter as shown in the attached pic.

I have the headlining removed so from the inside it's an easy matter of removing the bolt.

I do however have to either get up to the ariel using some ladder arrangement or reach down from above from the roof.

I am sure that some of you out there have had the delight of having to do this job so your hints and tips would be much appreciated.

Open one of the front doors and stand in the gap between the door and the edge of the body although you won't be able to do this if your under 40 years of age as you will have to consult with someone regarding the working at height act which will.of course require a 50 page method statement

You could try a wheel step, like this…….

But it depends how tall you are…….?
