Subject to the situation re travel, where is the best site for an early train ? Say leaving around 07:00, 7.5 mtr motorhome no facilities required,

The Drum Inn pub, 5 minute drive from Eurotunnel and excellent food

Canterbury park and ride. Good pub for tea then early start half an hour and your on the train

Hythe couple of minutes from the tunnel, parking alongside canal bank nr Sainsbury`s, easy walk into town centre, 15 -20 min walk to beach.

Bit of a rip off though, £20 (more if EHU required) just to park in the car park regardless of how much you spend inside!

Master Brewer nearer the Tunnel much better value.

Depends on what you call a rip off. We are happy to spend 20 quid on a site then walk to the local pub and spend there as well. We use the Drum in for location and good food and treat it as the start of our holiday

Exactly the same with The Master Brewer, except it's free to use their car park.

weve used the drum but found it an expensive night by the time youve bought meals and drinksb depending on time we wild at farthing corner or use park and ride

Hi, we have a lovely free spot right on the seafront front in Folkestone with an AMAZING Nepalese restaurant only 15 minutes walk away.
PM for details, or read our latest thread.

We are going to give this place a try got to collect AHC,s for the pooches then early train.

that was the very first place we pitched up at when doing the tunnel

it’s up a very long steep hill but good food and a friendly welcome

there’s a Tesco at the roundabout before you climb the mountain to fill up as well 😉

Canterbury park and ride or consider going straight over on a late crossing plenty of options within 20 mins of the tunnel and you are ready to go the next day.

Think you will find that Folkestone definitely do not encourage overnight parking for motorhome on the seafront.

Far easier to cross late afternoon early evening loads of places to stop on the other side.

Agreed Folkestone seafront difficult but parking okay on the Leas overlooking seafront in front of The Grand and Metropole hotels.

No we didn't find that. Our spot is a legal parking place, no signs preventing overnight parking and not over looked by any buildings. We enjoy a meal in Folkestone then get to crack on with the drive through France the next day.

No parking overnight

As a matter of interest is that by the new apartments being built on seafront.

We haven't used it for a while as we now go straight over and overnight in France, but the Flying Horse at Boughton Lees used to encourage motorhome overnighting. They had a large area behind specifically for motorhomes. A lovely village green opposite . All in all a great peaceful stop about a 15 minute drive from tunnel. The best one we tried and they don't always demand you to have a meal. Give them a ring to check they still take motorhomes 01233 620914

Another thumbs up for Black Horse Farm Caravan Club Site, Densole. They have 'Ferry Pitches' which are away from the other campers so that you can come and go at all hours without disturbing other folks (unless they're also on the 'Ferry Pitches').
