Hi,here you go. On a 2019 chassis, You are going to have to drill a 14mm hole in the swivel plate to allow this to work.For a lot of people this ultimately off putting. Nothing in and of itself is bullet proof, but layers of security are the best way to keep what's yours.

Is it the 14mm lock i need to order as i believe there are 2 sizes? By the looks of your picture you drill the hole and fit the lock to the front part of the base once the chair is swivelled towards the habitation area

Yes but put a 50mm plate washer under it or it's a bit loose.
You need the version of the lock that closes smaller for a brake disc, the bigger ones are for a chain I think

Hi, yes I have the 14mm version. As mentioned else where some washers to take up the slack is a good idea, I happened to have a stack of Stainless penny washers that I tack welded 3 together to make a snug fit for the pin when installed. Yes again,turn the seat and note the seat base to round bar relationship, you need enough space for the dome pin head to drop into position, 3rd visualisation helps. Best drilled once your holding the Oxford patriot lock in your hand. A step drill bit is ideal for the job.

I disagree.
Our previous van was new from dealership. Insurance was agreed based on being booked into vanbitz for alarm fit. We sorted collection date a few days before alarm fit.
They just didn’t cover theft of van until alarm fitted.
We just didn’t leave van so it can be done 👍

Can you elaborate on this and explain what you mean by blocking Vanbitz and who are blocking them?
Would agree, sadly insurers are now effectively blocking them for a lot of new vans, we wanted to use them, but they would not even cover us third party to drive away from the dealers without an alarm and immobiliser fitted, sadly as vanbiyz only install in Taunton this was not possible.

They came highly recommended on a thread that I currently cannot locate. They work a treat. They replicate the flashing light of a high end alarm at minimal cost.

P.S. They were a few pence cheaper when I bought a month or so ago.
They are very easy to install, positioned so the lights can easily seen, even if you have a thermal screen cover.

Why are they blocking vanbitz
I am new to the sight
If I have understood your question correctly its not the insurance company blocking us per say, but rather what level of cover the insurance company is offering/requiring based on the value of the vehicle.
Based on price brackets different vehicles require different levels of security to be insurable. Most vehicles below £90k require either an S5, S7 or Thatcham Cat 1 system with A 14-28 day period in which to get the systems installed.
Vehicles from £90k+ tend to require all of the above before the vehicle leaves the dealership forecourt.

We've seen it plenty of times where our customers will collect their new motorhome, come straight to us and have their alarms installed the very next day. It's up to you to play a bit of hardball with the insurers if you want the right system installed on your new 'home away from home'. 😉

That's the issue we had, outright refused to let us drive away, so effectively we had to have to accept someone used to fitting car alarms fit a phantom system at the dealers.

Exactly what happened to me.

I just agreed to collect the van with the agreement that I was booked in the next day. We just had to agree that until the alarm was installed we were not covered for theft.
Simply didn’t leave the van

Just installed (stuck) 2 foe deadlocks, look brilliant - fooled me if they don't work as a deterrent!
 
For security you need a large dog such as a German shepherd. If you're really serious a couple of dobermann. In the later case you may need to dispose of the body of any thief if there's anything left.

Very informative, thanks. We are looking at getting our first motorhome. It will be a used motorhome and we not yet at the stage to get insurance quotes, so not sure on any requirements they may need.

Personally I would feel happier having one fitted for my own peace of mind along with something like a visible steering lock.

It's interesting that most of you are talking about systems to prevent the van getting nicked. I can understand that if you are living in an area where this is occurring. However, if you don't live in these sort of areas, a simple deterrent is more than enough. I bought and installed the Van Guardian system that uses exterior motion sensors and detects any sort of manipulation to then set off an extremely loud alarm. As my van has a factory fit immobiliser it doesn't need another and this is more than enough for the insurance company. They are also happy to cover me all through Europe including Switzerland, Austria and many of the eastern countries. At home there is no chance of anyone wanting to nick the van, I guess I'm lucky.
