I'm in the process of fitting a diesel heater. I need to cut a hole in the floor of the MH to fit a stainless steel deep turret mounting plate.

What wood be the best sealant to use between the turret and the MH floor underneath the MH to ensure a good water tight seal and able to withstand a bit of heat from the exhaust of the heater.

I will start it off with "just an ordinary silicone" it will be happy enough with a bit of heat and should stick OK to the plate and the floor, getting it off again might not be that easy.

many many years! since I was a kid
it can not get too hot or it would char the wood in the floor. I would use a decent urethane sealant like sikaflex or puraflex
