I told you I’d be back!! It’s your own fault for all of you being awesome!!🙂
looking for the best sat nav- at the moment we are erring towards the Garmin EU motorhome one - what do you think?
thanks!!

Not used that one but Garmin products are very good.
Might be an idea to name the specific model of interest.

None of the dedicated units are any good in my experience, they all stitch you up 😡

Use Google maps and sign posts.

It depends on your budget. You can pay a couple of hundred or about £50. Just make sure that whatever you buy has the functionality you need.

I used to use a TomTom Camper but got fed up of paying for the map updates (I bought mine early on when it didn't come with free maps updates :-( ). I have been using an Xgody 886 for the past 3 or 4 years with no problems. This cost me about £50 on eBay which was less than the cost of a TomTom map update!

We use the Garmin 780 Camper that enables you to enter the motorhome dimensions and, in theory, suggests routes that avoid unsuitable roads. Overall, it's very good, and there are times when the only access road is a wee bit narrow or bendy ... My main gripe is the Search facility that draws on ACSI and similar database locations with a dedicated 'Campsites Search' tab that rarely reports the details accurately. We usually enter the postcode, keep our eyes skinned for local signposts, and then save the site in 'Favourites' as 'XYZ Campsite ACTUAL'.

Probably no worse than the TomTom or Google Maps version, they all have limitations that encourage nashing of teeth and development of Anglo Saxon vocabulary ...

AGURI 😡 THE, most awkward, counter-intuitive bit of electrical equipment ever manufactured, it's on borrowed time. EVEN the on/off button is perfectly located to be pressed inadvertently when you need to adjust the viewing angle a smidge. More often than not now I revert to WAZE and just keep my eyes open for any obvious no way ahead roads.
