Best route & overnight stopovers from Calais to Algeciras in December

Planning an extended tour of Europe - looking to spend winter in Morroco probably in Agadir then head back into Europe in the spring and tour round Mediterranean coast of Spain, France Italy and into Greece then possibly Turkey (but open to other suggestions to escape 90 day rule) for 3 months before heading back across Europe to UK. No fixed itinerary will play it by ear.

First stage of trip is to get to Morroco before New year - looking to set off before Xmas and taking western route through France from Calais to San Sebastián via Bordeaux but looking for best route through Spain to Algeciras - avoiding extreme weather and steep inclines as much as possible I only have 100bhp! Currently thinking to head for Valencia via Zaragoza then along South coast to Algeciras? Would also like any suggestions for stopovers along route and would greatly appreciate any advice from more seasoned travelers! Am I completely mad doing this trip as a solo newbie in winter

i wouldn't limit it to Agadir, town itself could be anywhere, and campsite is horrible. We travel around more, closest we get to agadir is Terre D,ocean at Tagazhout. the fastest route from Bayonne is Valledolid, palencia Caceres, Salamanca Jerez, but yes hilly and can be windy, A7 from Valencia is also hilly but might be less windy.

Just be aware it may not turn up, mine hasn’t and they couldn’t send a duplicate they said. The refund they said they’d give also hasn’t returned but I will try again in the new year. I’ve had one for last 10 years for old van but never needed it and been all over France heading south.
