Getting Better
I've had a good look and the best I can find is £49 +pp which I think is ridiculous for a switch...

Anyone know of any better..?

Thanks

Is it wired or wireless? And is it necessary?

It's a remote for my inverter and wired, the plastic covering push on/off has broken through to the switch underneath, still works ok but is annoying..

We had the same with our Alde switch but that is the price of vanity/nails but they did send a spare cover for free.

Check that the existing switch simply shorts the two wires when pressed and disconnects when released. If it does then you can carefully remove the existing parts and drill a suitable hole for a momentary push switch to fit. Like this one (for example):

Cut a piece of clear self adhesive plastic and stick over it. It looks to have an LED indicator as well so you'll have to work out which wires are for the switch if you wish to replace it. Unless of course its an intellegent switch (with electronics) in which case it gets a bit complicated.

It will be one of these that has failed. Take it to bits and solder a new one in.
I had to repair our Mini boot release with one, they do fail.

That might be the case but it might just be a membrane switch under the plastic (like the switches in TV remotes, for example). Worth a check though.

Edit: I think the OP said the switch was still working and it was just the covering plastic that had failed.
