All the gear, and no idea!
As above, what’s everyone using IN their garage for mounting Ebikes? Are the Thule veloslides really worth the money or even a Fiamma a pro slide, or do you wrestle your Ebikes inside to a fixed rack?
TIA Ady

I needed to take my Fiamma type out....the height of my bikes at the handlebars is far too high, also depending on bike style two bikes side by side will not go through the opening...I now just use the non sliding part of the slide out and have bolted this down to the floor...I can manage....we load and unload them daily...too precious to leave out and in view...

Ady, I don't have a bike rack in the garage, but was using a ratchet strap, bungees, and reusable cable ties.............until I found these.........

I cover them with pipe lagging, adjust them on the ratchet system, then take up the fine tension by rotating them clockwise.
Over tensioning may case damage to the walls, floor, or ceiling, pending which orientation they are being used in.

I have just been playing around with an old rack I had lying behind the shed and come up with this, it’s not pretty but they’re secure👍

That looks similar to what I do...add a tie down strap from the high point of the rack on both sides to brace the bikes from forward or backward movement should make a very good set up...

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Our solution for non-electric bikes is similar to Jock's.

We already had four fixed poles mounted on the plinths, which are either side of the garage opening, so plinth to ceiling in approx each corner of garage. We load the bikes leaning together towards two poles and just ratchet strap them to the poles to stop any movement. Same could be done using Jock's poles'

IMO this takes up much less space then racks which mount the bikes apart. They take up less than half the width of the garage space, plenty of room for other things and to get past them to reach to back of garage.

We have a Fiamma Pro slide in the garage, great solution for most bikes but my wife’s e-bike is simply too high as the slide system adds about 100mm to the overall height and then the bike is already tall. Love it for regular bikes though

I have the Fiamma Carry Bike Garage Slide Pro, its a brilliant piece of kit, I can now get our 2 e-bikes in and out of the garage in seconds where as before I used to pratt about for about 30 minutes and was never really happy with the way they were in the garage and many times we walked because it was to much trouble to get the bikes out and back in again. The final straw was after getting my new e-bike the paintwork got damaged on the first trip in the garage. I went to see Chris at E-Bike Sales & Repairs he recommended it and ordered me one in at a good price to.

Fork mount for me much sturdier than the frame clamps, mine has adapters to fit my quick release single speed and my thru axel MTB. They don’t take up much room when not in use either. My tray is currently loaded with two SUPs and two boxes of firewood.

Thanks, just thinking about import taxes.
Yeah, I got stung with them, I wasn’t thinking straight.
I should have picked the holder up as I was in Germany a few weeks later.
Maybe worth asking if he will send it over as a gift.

You people never fail to amaze me.
My garage is so full I have trouble getting my hand in....and thats without bikes!

I am struggling to find things to fill mine. Probably less than a quarter full without the bikes. You obviously dont pack light then ;)

We usually disappear for three months at a time so carry everything we might need. Just scrape in at our weight limit, so cant buy too many duty frees
