I'm an almost complete Sat-Nav numpty, but looking to buy a new TomTom to use in the van.

Essential requirements:

- Covers UK & Europe

- Able to input longitude and latitude for destinations

- Able to input 7-letter/digit UK postcodes

Budget is limited, so happy to go for an entry level that includes the three essential requirements (current basic TomTom Start is good, but will not accept longitude and latitude input for destinations)

Finally, is there anything else I should consider essential?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Have you tried downloading latest update for TomTom. My Routes XL would not take Lat and Long until a few months ago when I downloaded an upgrade from TomTom, free. Now it is all singing and dancing, takes Lat and Long no problem. It was a very basic model that I purchased.
