Hi folks. What's the best 12v gadget you ever bought for your van? Or even low wattage mains device? We can leave out stuff like kettles that need 30 minutes to boil.

Are we including battery-operated things here? šŸ˜‰

Best 12v gadget is the double fan to keep me and the pooch cool on those baking hot nights where you can't sleep - does anyone remember those?

Number one itā€™s got to be the maxx fan. Second most used, is dewalt automotive 18v charger, endless supply of power and two USB port adapter. I use dewalt tools and radio, Hoover, torch are handy in the van.

Karcher Window Vac. Good for the shower and any windscreen condensation.
Does it only do windows or can it be fiddled with to suck crumbs off the carpet too?

No, I Donā€™t think it could manage that. Since we stopped using shower blocks it has been extra useful for mopping out the on board shower. We got it originally to clear up windscreen condensation because I donā€™t like silver screens and it is great for that.

We use our 12-volt plug-in Lidl car vac a lot for housekeeping duties in the van. Think it cost about Ā£15. :giggle:

Lots of other 12v stuff, but apart from charging phones and laptops, I gues the vac gets used the most. (y)

Im really interested, would you mind a few questions? How do you get the the movies to load onto a hard drive? What media player do you use and what format are the files stored in? Thanks
I load films onto a 32GB memory stick and it plugs straight into telly.
The formats the TV will play are MP4, AVI or MKV

The movies are downloaded on pc and then stored on the external hard drive.
Mp4 format then played through a small media player connected to the tv via hdmi cable
Media player is only 5 volts ive a 240v cord and a 12v multi adaptor cord
Heres a few pics of player and harddrive .. player is about 2 inch square

Agreed, I use a small 250gb HD and it plugs into all my TV's at home - most if not all smart TV's will work, sometimes a file won't be recognised but usually that's down to the software of the TV so I use a different TVa thome - not so easy in the MH
