Bespoke tow bar for swift sundance 2005

We want to have a tow bar fitted to our swift sundance to accommodate our ebikes as getting them onto the Fiamma bike rack is getting more of a task as we get older. We went to a local tow bar fitter who told us it would have to be tailor made and the one he’s recommended is in St Albans. We’re in Carmarthenshire so were wondering if anyone has any recommendations/experience of fitting nearer South Wales? Thanks in advance for your help.

As for your tow bar query, have you checked to see if there is a recommended bar for the Sundance?

If not a Google search will show several specialist manufacturers, not sure how local they my be.

We have a 2007 Sundance that came with a removable tow bar, I’ll have a look tomorrow to see if I can see a manufacturers make on it.

EirlysGlyn Couldn‘t find any paperwork on who fitted the tow bar or anything on the tow bar, but I did find the make if that’s any help.

Photo’s show the manufacturer plate (AL-KO) and how it’s connected to the subframe - raining here so hard to get at an angle to take them without getting wet!

Thanks Manic. Another to look at Looks like sundance only supply tow bars for models from 2012 onward but also seen al-ko kober in Warwickshirewho have made a tow bar for a swift sundance so will be contacting them too.

Thanks Manic. Another to look at Looks like sundance only supply tow bars for models from 2012 onward but also seen al-ko kober in Warwickshirewho have made a tow bar for a swift sundance so will be contacting them too.

This Is because vehicles registered from April 2012 it became law / construction and use requirement to only fit towbars that are type approved. So from this date you will find some ready made and approved bars. The chassis and bars became a bit more standardised.
Before April 2012 most towbars are individually fabricated

Not on a Swift but we had a mobile fitter who got the Al-Ko towbar and fitted it to our then Exsis on the driveway but he comes from Bournemouth Probably a bit far for him? But if you are stuck let me know and I will give you his contact details.

The last bar I had made for a pre 2012 van was done by a small company in Poole Dorset for around £300 supply and fit with electrics
