As the title says. Our 22nd stop is at Bontera Park in Benicassim. First time here and a bit impressed after some of the French, Portuguese and Spanish sites.

50% or the site is closed and around a third of the remainder is empty too.

Nice site, view of the hills behind, pool for those that want it, mercadona over the road and 10 mins to the beach. Restaurant and bar with takeout on site too.

€20 with ACSI and part electric or 26 all in.

3 more stops in Spain, 3 in France then 14 days doing the romantic road in Germany.

What a nightmare eh!😆😁

We have spent a few weeks each winter at Bonterra for the last few years.

It would be much appreciated if you could expand on this information a little?

The site is in two halves naturally, Calle A&B and C&D. Is one side completely shut or alternative roads?

Nice area for cycling with the cycle paths. Have a great time (y) :giggle:

We haven't been since we got the 'Van.

When tugging it was our 'Go to' site.
Some of the Reception Staff could be a little grouchy I worked out that the miserable ones were the ones that slightly struggled with some languages (say's he with awful french)

Our favourite lady on reception was a young lady who had a smile for everyone and language skills that were unbelievable.

I went into the Office and she was dealing with an Irish couple. I became aware that, not only was the receptionist speaking in English, she was doing it with an Irish accent.

I playfully challenged her when it was my turn and asked if she realised that she was speaking with an accent and asked how she did it.

" Ah! I spent 6 months in Dublin" came the reply.

C & D and the associated Wash Blocks are all closed.

I have been there for Armastice Day for the last 4 years..Always a good turn out for 11/11..BUSBY.

Cracking site and so convenient for the town, shopping and cycling. Spotlessly clean and a decent bar/restaurant.

We also met Eddie, Eileen and Ringo, big Leeds fan, which was great as we were ther last year for the end of the season when the mighty Blades pipped Leeds to promotion- and he took it very well!

Next time you speak tell him Glynn & Margeret (SUFC) send their regards please.
We would probably be there ourselves except some !!**?? Frenchwoman ran into the side of us earlier this summer and we are home awaiting insurance/repair

Each to their own, I guess - we went there last year, planning to stop 5 nights, and couldn’t wait to leave the next morning! Not really sure why, tbh, although the weather had turned dull, and we found the site oppressive. It’s not as though we dislike big commercial sites as such - we fled off to Eden at Peniscola, which we love.
It may have been because Bonterra (at that time) seemed predominantly British - we prefer a broader mix.

I can see how the site might feel like that. Glad to have a pitch with nothing either side or in front of us. Great view of the hills, no kids running around and quiet as a mouse last night.

Can’t stand busy sites or where vans are compressed in.

Enjoy whatever you do. You've as much chance of winning the lottery as making the right choice ATM. D Mail reporting that all of Europe thinking of standardising approach and quarantine for all countries if infection rate over 50 in the UK

We are heading back from Spain, via France (Millau actually and probably one aire on the way to) then into Germany to ‘quarantine’ for 11 days whilst doing the Romantic Road, then run back to the tunnel, another day isolating on the way north in UK, one day at home (unpacking) and jobs a good-un.

Surprised you admit to actually reading the Daily Mail ;)

However the idea is logical, it's crazy that one country says you can come in and another says you can't
Setting the bar at 50/100,000 seems sensible, even if the UK is slightly above this (and rising).

The issue with Motorhomers, who invariably travel from place to place will be where you have been over the last couple of weeks.
The problem could be for example, Spain who are at the 250/100,000 level, that you would not be permitted into France to go home overland, and the ferry may not be an option, as the UK would not want you either!

It would mean you would need to navigate your way around Europe going from one sub 50/100,000 country to another.

pardon my ignorance ......but were does the romantic road start and finish ?

Just heard the police have moved all the Van's off the airfield just down the road from Benicassim

Well with sites only a quarter full can you blame them..BUSBY.

BP is our benchmark site against which we measure all others. It doesn't have the best pitches, showers, restaurant, sports, gym, cycling, shopping, town or access to beaches but on average, for these facilities in one place, it beats all other sites we've been to and that amounts to over 20 in Spain. Having said that although we go there every year we stay for shorter periods no longer than a week. The fiesta in the town is worth seeing. Writing this I'm missing the Select already ☕🥐🍷. The miniature railway is staggering but probably closed at the moment. Hope you enjoyed your stay there.

The local police were incredibly hot on masks and hand washing and controlling the numbers at the Market on Thursday. So perhaps they are being strong on control overall.

We're on an Aire in L Estatit which is rubbish coated to BP at around the same price. On to France today.
