Hi, just a quickie. We are travelling on Eurotunnel next weekend, obviously entering Europe in France, but then onwards through Belgium into Germany. France seems to want a Sworn undertaking as well as the proof of vaccination, easy enough. But I am trying to understand the info for Belgium. Do you need a Passenger Locator Form or not. We may only be there for a couple of days but then will be there on the way back. It talks about a White list but I can't find reference to the UK anywhere. Help

My understanding is no checks at internal borders.

I’M IN TRANSIT IN BELGIUM, DO I NEED TO COMPLETE THE PASSENGER LOCATOR FORM?

In case your transit is less than 48 hours, then you don’t need to complete the Belgium Passenger Locator Form. As well, if you were in Belgium and left the country for less than 48 hours, you won’t need that document.

When entering one EU country from another I always wonder who the ones asking these questions are going to show their paperwork to? There are no border personnel to show it to and other than ANPR nobody would even know they have entered the country.

Two years ago when we went that was the case. But of course since then we have had two major changes. If each country in the EU doesn't bother, then why do some of them have different rules.

We went last September and the borders were as they have been for the last forty years. No personnel there. No sign that we had left one country and entered another. Therefore nobody to show any paperwork to.
I do think many people are trying to create problems for themselves where none in reality exist.
Many people cross international borders for work daily. I’m pretty sure they don’t worry themselves to this degree daily.

Since the advice on Gov.uk says to check the entry requirements, that is what I am doing and it is confusing. I am grateful for clarification from people who have actually travelled.

By the way, if you wonder who "the ones asking these questions" are, it is me, and I am not "trying to create problems for myself", just trying to make sure I know what the situation might be. Not long ago when people were travelling they were having to spend a fortune on tests.

Went into France from Belgium on the A16 last October and the French police had the road down to one lane and walking pace
They were pulling drivers over for checks, we were waved through.

Hello,

Have a look at the eudplf site, online form.
I registered and will complete the Plf as required when I travel.
Easy to use.
This looks like a great system.

Yes we have gone through that border check a couple of times pre pandemic, I always got the feeling the Belgium police were looking for someone particular, it was around the time if the terrorist attacks. They manage it very well
