Hi. We're in the very very early stages of planning to go fulltiming when I (hopefully) take early retirement in a few years time. A good bed is very important to us, at home we have a 5ft bed with a nice thick memory foam mattress.

After looking at a few brochures, it seems that quite a few models have fixed beds with the corner cut off, and we're wondering what these are like to sleep on, for two fairly large people. I assume that when the manufacturers quote the width, they're talking about the largest end? How narrow do they become, typically, at the other end?

Our Rapido has a bed just like that and it is fine, but get a good mattress and a mattress topper. We now prefer that to our bed at home.

Hi klaatu.

RASKELF do memory foam matresses/toppers for motorhomes, including shaping them to fit - so you don't have to give up the comforts of sleep!

Since before Motorhomefun
I had cut off edges in my caravans as the last 3 were all fixed beds with various shaping at the bottom and had no problems.

My problem was getting a 6' 5'' bed:RollEyes:

No issues in the RV though:winky:
