When I needed one for one of my past vans, I bought an aluminium bunk ladder a bit like this;

And just cut off the surplus length from the bottom and replaced the rubber feet.

C.A.K. of Kenilworth sell a 150 cm (59") bunk ladder for about £55. It has fairly wide flat treads to improve comfort - a significant consideration given that one is likely to have bare feet when using it. They also sell J-hooks to screw onto the top of the ladder for about £5 per pair, if these are required to locate into brackets on the bed. I have no idea whether these hooks will suit Hymer fittings.
