I'm an oldbie MH number 10
In 20 plus years of having a motorhome I've never done much of Wales despite North Wales being on our doorstep.

This weekend I've come to Abersoch for the first time ever despite so many of my friends often coming here to launch their boats.
I came to race in an event called the ROC triathlon - basically a mile sea swim, 50k bike to Snowdon, run up to the summit via the Watkins path, run down, bike 50k back to Abersoch and finish with a run on the beach for a mile...

I've been truly impressed with how beautiful it is...To too it all I'm now having to live here in the week due to work...
Off to Aberdaron today for a look round, but seriously considering upping sticks and moving..

…..but that’s why you’ve got a Motorhome, isn’t it, so you can do just that?!?;)

We're off to Betws-y-Cowed on Tuesday, great to go back to Snowdonia again.

Abersoch is a great location. I believe it has its own micro climate due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. Bought a boat from a company there called Abersoch Land & Sea in the 70s. Must go back again sometime.

My parents owned the Deucoch Hotel at Abersoch when our children were very small in late 70s / early 80s. When I was a child our holidays were always spent in Llanbedrog or Abersoch. It became a large holiday home but the last I heard it was in a sorry state and at the centre of a planning row.

How did you get on?

The swim would get me - the ride and run I could do ok....

BiL has a seasonal pitch for his caravan over the otherside of the golf course from town.
Aunty met and married my uncle there when they ran/worked at the St Tudwells Arms in the 60s & 70s.
Saw a basking shark there when swimming there 1 year.

Aberdaron is stunning stayed at the CL above the beach about 250 meters from village center past the church and graveyard.

Couple of days there last week. Inland not coastal. I got on some really small B roads around lakes and over dams, blah blah, stunning.
One B road i was on called "The National Cycling Route"?🤷‍♂️ for about 12 miles was particularly tight. A lot of drivers would not have like to have been on it in a MH, but the scenery was spectacular.

Visiting is fine but living there with that lunatic Drakeford in charge….no thanks
