My pod machine is on its way out so thinking I'll treat myself to a new home coffee machine for Christmas. There was mention of bean to cup machines recently. Can someone recommend a machine that is,
Easy to use and clean.
Has a jug to keep the coffee hot
Small as it's only for myself and possibly the occasional guest.
Ideally under £150

A recommendation from a current user would be appreciated.

Easy to use and clean. - Most are easy to keep clean.
Has a jug to keep the coffee hot - Heathen, coffee needs to be made and then drunk straight away when fresh.
Small as it's only for myself and possibly the occasional guest. - Good luck finding a small one.
Ideally under £150

A recommendation from a current user would be appreciated. - Have a rethink. (y)

Sounds as though you’re after a filter coffee machine that grinds the beans. Similar to this

Most of the bean to cup machines make coffee by pumping the hot water, under significant pressure, through the ground coffee. This type of machine produces coffee that resembles that available from cafés, i.e. with a crema on top. Similiar to this.

I have to drink decaf, well I'm supposed to, but have given into half and half, but trying to find a decaf beans strong enough for my palate was a nightmare, not to mention getting the grind right.

Works for me, when it didn’t initially, so not much more I can do. 🤷‍♂️

Initial links were to Amazon (and I’ve had problems with their links before) and later ones are to E-bay.

The ebay ones for me work and one of them is the same as one of the Amazon links I added.(y)

Save this link for a rainy day, as its almost TMI, but might be worth the time & effort to read and listen to, before spending any dosh. (skip button may help) I have always been crap at foaming the milk with our Rio Proffi Bean to Cup machine, but there is a useful video on how to froth milk even on the cheaper machines.
Having said that I am still happy with coffee for one, using my old scratched up Mocka Pot, as I like a touch of milk with my coffee, rather than coffee with my milk...if you get my drift.

Is this stove top espresso device a must have for the coffee fanatics amongst us? Beautifully engineered but very expensive.

I got brought this for my 40th from the wife and I have to admit I miss the coffee it makes when I'm not home and really begrudge buying coffee out as well as its so good

Take it with you, we do with ours and store it in the wardrobe when travelling. You can’t beat proper coffee!

Wow, I wish all youtube reviews were that good.

He's a very good presenter, I'd be happy to watch him on mainstream TV, his channel has many videos mostly reviewing coffee machines and coffee related products.

Give Wogan coffee a try if you haven’t already. I buy their Swiss water washed decaffeinated beans for my bean to cup machine & love it. They do all the different grinds too.

Thanks for the link, but I can not find any indication of the taste strength of their beans.

Personal flavour is a difficult thing you may want to try Darkwoods lamplight but it may not be ‘strong enough’ for your palette but it is a pretty decent roast. https://shop.darkwoodscoffee.co.uk/collections/coffee if your ever passing thier locality they are well worth visiting

It’s a personal choice but a manual espresso machine are pretty good investments some thing like a La SPaziale or from the Rocket Range. Appreciate not every one wants a manual machine but these do give control over the brew and a lot of satisfaction in making a coffee.

Again thanks for the link, but the "Darkwoods lamplight" is only a strength 3.
I like my coffee strong and the best decaf to date for strength and taste for me is a strength 5 from the Decadant Decaf Coffee Company. (y)

A company such as Darkwoods do have the ability to roast a bean to your pallet or you could invest in a small roaster yourself. It also sounds like your been preference is a Robuster rather than an Arabica bean.

I’ve just purchased a Sage Touch machine, coffee just like it should be made.

Started looking at these again. Would we notice the difference in a milk coffee (flat white/latte/cappuccino) between Moka pot and Sage? To be fair it would be be Barista Express Impress rather than Touch.
