BBC2 coast 20:30 tonight.

I'll give you a wave as you pass!

Got my coffee and sitting down now to watch.

Good shout . Recorded . Pre view for our trip in May

What a rubbish programme, such a waste of time when it could have been so much better. As usual the presenters seemed more interested in themselves than giving useful info.

Thought it was quite good. More a social than tourist docu.

The bit that really spoiled it for me was the visit to the salmon smoker. Can’t believe they sent the two presenters that wouldn’t/couldn’t eat smoked salmon. It seemed more look at me from the presenters than look at Dumfries and Galloway. Shame, it could have been so much better.

My wife and I are actually shareholders in the harbour at Portpatrick. The community ownership has made a huge difference to the village.

...and I am a member of the Skywatch volunteer team who fly various sorties in support of our local communities. The “airfield” at Castle Kennedy is adjacent to the Castle Kennedy Gardens which are well worth wandering around. There’s a good wee CL-type campsite nearby, which has been losing custom to FLT’s camping at the beach car park :-) By the way, the exercise to photograph rubbish on the beaches was non-trivial. The whole coastline of Scotland has been covered by our volunteer pilots and observers.

I have also visited the air traffic facility at Prestwick several times, so this was an enjoyable programme for me.

I have also stayed on a campsite at “artists town”, maybe a hundred years ago when we owned a caravan :)

We are gonna head north early spring before the hoards.
Then heading down D&G area general tour about, as I have not been down ther for a few years now.
There has been a couple of good docs on recently around D&G, the forestry 1 was interesting.
Whats the name of the CL you mentioned G-RMP?

Sorbie Primary School CL (CMC site) near Newton Stewart.

Nope, just a private pilot with a “home-made” plane, one of several like-minded members in Scotland, who offer our planes and our time for volunteer stuff such as looking for missing persons, beached whales, photographing traffic incidents/fires/floods etc.

All commendable use of time. Just thought the RMP (Royal Military Police) bit!
