p.s. I heard about this (tellingly on Radio 4 Today) and must say I never expected this result. especially the "established" bit.

I thought there would be a 'class' for ageing post war babies who grew up in ordinary households, on NE cooncil estates, and, eventually moved on but stubbornly hung onto "working class" accents, mannerisms and still support NUFC!

Surely if you go to work you are working class. I dont know what i am since retiring , probably Third Class. Thats how governments treat Pensioners.
