The van has two batteries, both behind a partition so not easy to get too

When we were away, the voltage was ok, at home the van is on hookup and the voltage is down to 12.2/12.4 v even on hookup.

The dealer was meant to test the leisure batteries before we picked the van up, but I suspect that they didnt... A few days ago the voltage was a lot higher..

The CB510/516 - CBE connected to the system appears to be on permanently, even after I have turned the mains off.

I suspect the bayeries are done it, so a word with the dealer... Grrr

The bottom right button on the CBE is the on/off switch. Should glow red when it’s on!

(Some) Motohome dealers are not very clever.

We had two solar panels installed from new. Each witth its own controller and two long (thin) cables to the leisure battery.

The voltage drop on the cables is rediculous. (and there lots of other silly things not quite right with what they did).

Your charger looks like a big unit in a small box - but that may not be the dealer's fault.

OK we’ll assume that your charger is fine, switched on and outputting current. On this basis the batteries must be EOL as you suggest!

Does the housing that covers the CBE charger leave sufficient space for ventilation. It might shut down if it gets too hot.

The manual gives the following advice:
Install the battery charger in an appropriate housing, dry and ventilated; maximum efficiency can beobtained when the battery charger is installed in vertical position (see figure 2), keeping the front sideat minimum distance of 300 mm and the bottom and top side at a minimum distance of 100 mm fromthe housing sides.

A bit confused tbh - Which chassis are you on - if Fiat the starter battery is under the passenger (driver side for you LHD?) so the two in the piccy must be leisure batteries. If these aren't well charged then the CBE system usually won't divert charge to the starter battery. Which battery is showing 12ish volts? 😕
