Battery usage not adding up (or is it just me?)

We have just got a new van with 2X 95ah batteries. On friday we went away for the weekend, with the van having been on ehu for 24+ hours therefore presume that the battery bank was fully charged. We parked up at around 7pm and by 7am the batteries were reading around 50% discharged - 12 hours of use. The main usage was a Thetford T1090 compressor fridge on night mode and on the lowest setting - the Thetford website () says that average power consumption in night mode is 2amps. The only other power usage was Truma combi for a little heating, LED lighting (used very minimally) and the Hymer control panel. Is it just me or does this not add up? I would have thought around 24 - 36 hours of this level of power usage before reaching 50% discharge.
Assuming that 50% discharge is 95ah?

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

Search the threads for ‘battery issues’. I’ve had a similar problem and received lots of helpful advice. Basically my battery is on its way out ... I had very little using power too but my battery discharged very quickly. I was warned that the heating and fridge does use a lot of power though from the battery ... a search on the forum should shed some light though so good luck with sorting it

I'm no expert on this ....but you mention heating the van via the Truma off the batteries? I'm sure I've read somewhere that this really hammers the batteries? Any reason you didn't use gas for this?

It uses 12v for the control circuit and fan.
It will never get warm on 12v.

Bssed on recent experience. Did you have switches correct whilst on hook up to actually charge leisure batteries?

How did you find that the batteries were 50% discharged? Was it a percentage discharge figure on the control panel? Or was it the voltage of the battery, using a chart of discharge % and voltage?

Although the truma boiler only uses 12v for the fans, it can draw up to 5amps on full speed Don't discount this usage, it may work out more than the fridge

:welco:
They are AGM batteries and probably had it, my last Hymer had AGM's lasted 18 months, replaced them with Gels.
On the current van I replaced the AGM with Gels from new.

I'm a bit confused you say in your profile you have an A Class but Hymer only fit compressor fridges in their PVC's.

It only draws 5amp when on full blast which won't be long at this time of year, then it drops to about 1 amp.
