Any thoughts please.
18 month old Carthago, 3 leisure batteries, 1vehicle battery.
Solar panel, but parked in garage with windows above panel, sun not high enough at this time of year,
Isolator switch off.

Checked batteries last week, all ok.
Checked again Christmas Day — display as per photo.
Put it on charge for 24 hrs - display still the same.

Will it be ok to lift floor panel and use plug in charger to try to charge vehicle battery?

I will ring Camper U.K. when they are back at work, but in the meantime any help appreciated.

Hope you all had a good Christmas and hopefully a Happy New Year.

You are suggesting that the vehicle battery is flat? might be worth checking with a voltmeter fist.

So is it saying the Chassis Battery is Flat and the Habitation batteries are ok?
It’s reading as if the engine battery is flat.

Will do.
Yes get it charged up then I'd be checking for any abnormal current drain. How long has it been parked up?
It has been in the garage for 2 months, we check the batteries every week and if required plug it into mains. It rarely drops below 12.7 and both readings are usually pretty similar.

My batteries are both on optimate maintainers 24/7. They can only deliver 0.8 amps so under battery fault conditions nothing can get hot 👌

Are those readings with the charger on if so looks like the hab battery is on a float charge although 13.3 is a bit low but depends how accurate your panel is & looks like starter battery is not taking a charge.

Edit:
-1 amp on hab battery so looks like not on charge in that case everything looks OK but starter battery could do with topping up.

Why is only the vehicle charger icon illuminated?

Our E Line was prone to the Cab battery lasting only a short time without charging - it was on a Merc base and the various systems the Merc uses plus the alarm and tracker had quite a draw. The cbe charger kept the Gel Hab bank (3) charged, but floats/switches off when it feels the bank is fully charged. The batteries are paralleled when the Hab voltage hits 13.6 and the panel is switched on, if I remember correctly, and a small trickle current is then applied to the Cab. The voltage shown on the panel is then similar to the Hab but it isn't necessarily charged and would take a very long time to do so, even with the main CBE charger on EHU there is only a max 6amp to the AGM Cab battery. As long as a suitable charger is used it is fine to put an external charger on - I used the jump start point under the bonnet when I did it on ours. If it really has been sitting at 2.5v (check with a multimeter on the terminals or look at a tracker app if you have one fitted) I would get it checked properly, and replace if it is not up to snuff. The voltage shown on the panel in our van was measured from the terminal (B1) in the DS distribution box, so there are some fuses/conections in between that and the battery. Good luck

Thank you everyone. We will put a charger on the engine battery and hopefully that will cure it. It’s due back to Camper U.K. in January for warranty work so we will add a battery check to the list.
It would help if we knew exactly which bits of the habitation items are running off the engine battery.

From memory:
The Hab and Driver steps
Central locking
Alarm/Tracker
Radio Head unit

On some vans there is a simple switch/plug to isolate the cab battery - on our merc there was a setting on Mbux menu for "storage" that reduces the drawdown significantly - in both cases the alarm/tracker is also disabled.

The engine battery will be powering the ECU, tracker and alarm systems which is more than enough to run the battery low in about 2 weeks. My hab step is powered from the hab battery but is only switched off when the hab battery isolator switch is turned off but not when only the 12V panel is switched off. The radio may be another culprit some units, particularly Pioneer ones, have a reputation for flattening batteries if they are only turned off rather than fully powered down.
