When you are travelling around do you run your fridge on battery or gas
For a 3 way it should be on battery. This is powered by your alternator via the split charge relay.
Using gas on the move is not advisable unless you have a secumotion regulator and your fridge is designed for it.

If you don't have a 3 way auto , just switch over to the battery symbol and when the engine starts it will keep the fridge at the temperature it was.
I HAVE left ours on gas (by mistake) but I don't think that is a good idea. The rush of air down the side of the van may NOT be conducive to the efficient running of the fridge..
Just my opinion.
