I have a 2008 lunar roadstar 800, and I have just fitted a new battery with a small window solar panel to trickle into it and keep it topped up, however the battery light on the main panel won’t go off and the alarm keeps activating? Is this an alternator problem? Thanks Debbie

First step, remove the trickle charger and see if that helps. If so either wrong connections or faulty wiring/unit.
If not check all your battery connections for security - not wishing to question your abilities but the new battery is connected the right way round and is fully charged? In addition make sure you haven't accidentally disconnected something whilst swapping batteries.
After that it's down to the experts on here, sorry.

Some alarms trigger if the battery voltage changes suddenly. It's meant to trigger when the interior light comes on when the door opens, even if the door is left unlocked. So maybe a solar panel can trigger it if there's broken cloud and the sun/cloud illumination varies.
