I have two 110 amp lead acid batteries what is the down side off fitting a 230 amp lead acid besides the weight
please

None that I can think of, assuming the one new one replaced the two older ones.
If you ever pull high amps though there is an argument the stress shared across two batteries is better than one battery.

As long as all three are a similar age there shouldn't be a problem.
The charger/solar controller will see it as one 450a battery.
Standard charger will take an age to fully charge

Go to LiPo and have more capacity, longevity, lighter weight and you will be able to transfer it to your next van knowing it will still have loads of years left in it. It will save in the long term as you will have purchased loads of lead acid ones before it fails.

Agree pappajohn but does he mean in addition to 2 original....
I get feeling he means 1 big battery to replace 2 smaller ones..

True!
But if a single large battery developed a fault it means buying another expensive large battery.
One of two single batteries will be cheaper than one large if one needs replacing
