I think one of my 3 leisure batteries has collapsed. Everything good until about an hour ago. It is peeing down here so are in the van with heating and satellite radio on and charging laptop.

Suddenly electric alarm goes off and van shuts down (it does that if voltage falls below 11).

I had checked it half an hour before and last night it was showing a good healthy (12.7) voltage.

Switch electric back on now and voltage is back up to 12+ but I can see the voltmeter visablying falling.

1. Could it be anything other than a battery or cell collapsing?

2. Any recommendations in northern France to get new ones fitted?

Had similar problems in Greece recently, I would say defiantly ta least one battery has gone down, I separated my 2 batteries found they were both duff only giving about 10 A/H each, we survived until we got home as we still had plenty of sun for the solar.
Battery Megastore has several branches in France.
