We have a Voltronic battery monitor fitted to our van and I notice that it stops charging at 95%. Why does it do that? Should we ever use an external battery charger to push it up to 100%?
It also reads that the maximum draw we've ever had is 18. Is that good, bad or indifferent?
Wish I understood this stuff.

Don't fret over 95% on a gadget that can only approximate. If you see 13.6V a lot and sometimes 14.6V you are fine.

18A x 12V = 216W, that's quite a drain in MH terms, but it might have been for half a second on start-up, again don't fret, voltage tells you the real story.
