I took delivery a few days ago of a new 718, and had Highbridge install an 85w solar panel and two AGM batteries. I had assumed that I needed to do nothing and the panel would top up the batteries as normal, but I have just read in the handbook ( a multi model slim volume that confuses more than educates) that for the batteries to charge whilst on hookup or by solar power the main control panel must be switched on.

Is this correct? That would mean power is connected to everything (except the lights and pump which are separately switched) at all times, something I am loathe to do when the van is not being used for long periods. Thanks if anyone knows the answer!
