Our previous MH ran well on an 85W solar panel and a single 110Ah Elecsol Carbon Fibre battery, which kept going for eight years.

Our next one will have a 100W panel and a 100Ah battery both fitted as standard. However, we spend a lot of time on aires, it has more 12v gadgetry than the previous van, and whilst space is available for a second battery, the payload is very tight so I don't want to add more weight than is necessary.

Let's assume I'm looking for a single solid reliable battery above 110Ah and plan to make good use of the 12v electrics whilst hardly touching the 230v - can you recommend one from personal experience? Thanks.

For me EXIDE or Sonnenshein Gel as long as you can set your charging sources to suit, one advantage is that you are supposed to be able to take them to a lower level of discharge than flooded lead acid without damage.
