the bathroom mirror is past it's best, knackered round the edges and a few marks so want to replace it. No problem to source a piece of mirror, but getting the old one off is proving more difficult !

It's large, and is frameless, and is stuck or glued to the wall.

Have tried running a hacksaw blade behind it, the blade broke!!!
Short of taping it up and using a hammer, any bright ideas???

Don't remove it you will do a lot of damage. Fit the new mirror over the top.

Our current van one of the mirrors had a tiny bit of the mirroring going at the top hardly noticeable, we had it replaced under warranty, Hymer told the dealer doing the work not to remove the old mirror just fit the new one over the top. They fit them using an extremely powerful double sided adhesive tape.

That sounds a good idea, as we have the same problem, do you know what they stuck the new one on with.

Sorry don't know what they used, might be worth asking a local glass company that supplies mirrors, or you could use a PU adhesive like Stikaflex.

Did consider that, thought the weight of glass on top of more glass may not be a good idea, and also would it bond???

I have removed mirrors, stuck to a plaster interior wall, with fine wire from a roll of electrical stuff. You need a piece long enough to go around the width of the mirror and to hold each side. As you slice it down, it cuts through the centre of the sticky pads leaving a part on the wall and a part on the mirror so no damage was done.

I did. Decided against removal, tried gently but it wasn't going to happen!!!
Simply had another piece cut to size and stuck over the top of the old one with some mirror specific mastic stuff, worked a treat and looks great!
