The Portsmouth/Wootton car ferry is within the zone. To avoid it you will have to travel via Southampton or Lymington

Is your motorhome nearly new as the charge is based on your
vehicle emissions?

Checking my vehicle (Euro 6, 4500 kg) on the gov.uk CAZ site (<Broken link removed>), on entering my registration number it tells me that the vehicle‘s CAZ type is Heavy Goods Vehicle and that there is no charge in Bath, Birmingham or Portsmouth.

I would think yours would be Euro 5 , doubt that it's Euro 6.

Mine is Euro 6. Ducato base van Rapido build date December 2016 and UK registered June 2017. Euro 6 without needing Adblue according to FIAT.

Looks like euro 6 and later ok
Must just be the old ones like mine that there going to charge.
What I don't understand is if you're motorhome is under
3500 kg even if it's the same engine and emissions as one that over 3500 kg they get charged, so it's nothing to do with emissions it's about
weight ???

A heavy vehicle uses more fuel with greater emissions than a light one, even if it is the same engine. It has to work harder. However I suspect the rule is more to do with wanting different rules for cars and they are in the under 3500kg bracket.

Next month is the 125th anniversary for the London to Brighton run and the run starts from the middle of the new ULEZ zone, I wonder if any of them will be fined ?
I think veterans are exempt

There seems to be little thought in the design of our road systems. Traffic should be kept moving at the most economical speed with suitable fly-overs and slip roads then we, the motorist, would be able to keep our vehicle emissions to a minimum. Installing traffic lights and roundabouts just increases the problem.
Have you been to Southampton? It is impossible to find any road without lights every 100yards

It should be on your V5c under "Euro status" or try putting your details in the "Check if a vehicle is taxed" site (https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax) - it will tell you there.

Our Hymer phgv is euro 5 so would be fined £100 if I drive into Bath without the exemption, then its £9.
Today had its mot done at Bath Council workshop.
Passed with 1 advisory

"Emissions to clean to test". Yes thats printed on the mot under the monitor and repair bit.

To everyone who has checked if their vehicle is exempt I would caution to check again just before entering the zone.
As a resident i kept an eye on the app and was satisfied to be told mine was exempt. Satisfied but also surprised I admit.
Then just after it came into force and after driving via the zone I checked again to find they had revised the database and now it's not exempt. I paid the £9 but now make sure I take the long route round.

Still showing no charge for me. HGV, 4500 Kg, Euro 6b.

I dare say Bristol will expand its own CAZ to factor that in in due course…!
You‘ve got to laugh at the Bristol CAZ map. Even if you know the area vaguely, coming down the M32 you can get off at the last junction and easily skirt around the CAZ to get to the A4 or south of the city……residents are going to love that.

Any away supporters driving to Ashton Gate (for the Rugby / football / basketball/ netball etc) coming from the North, will have to enter the zone via either the M5 / A4 Portway (which is usually the route advised to away fans) or M32. So as well as their match tickets, they get a CAZ charge too. :(

Morning all, thought I’d share this little nugget with you,,,the better half and me thought we’d pop to Bath for a few days, so found a decent looking site,as was just about to book it when the Eagle eye spotted the Clean Air zone,,,,this needed looking at,,,,so the cost of driving the MH into the zone is,,,,£ 100,,, so we thought,, sod that, checked on Googlie earth and I can’t find a way of getting to the site without driving through the zone, unless I come in the opposite way via New York,,,,so Bath has said no to my spending cash in the area,,,back to the drawing board,,(y)(y)
Wow glad I read that or would have got caught out, thankyou
