We were heading to the Aire at Le Touguet de Paris Plage at the large horse area this weekend but it seems there is a horse event on so it may be closed?

Parc Equestre du Touquet Paris-Plage

Any thoughts or suggestions for alternative due to Bastille bank holiday? Arrive Calais about 11am
TIA

Thanks for the confirmation we thought it might be closed, we know the one but chances of getting on this weekend are slim, may try Calais or ? We always go this time of year and the bank holiday was the second week or arrived on the bank holiday Monday but this year we've slipped up we used to try to get on early Friday and not move till Tuesday.

Aw well no matter we will find something after all we will be in France chilling. Thanks again

Thought of there as well as you probably know it depends if anyone leaves as you arrive on busy days. May bump into some of you over there

It's going to be pretty crowded wherever you go this weekend. On Bastille Day the motorhomers on the Calais Port aire are usually moved from there to the other one by the river and after Bastille Day the car park and the aire at the Port are opened up for motorhomers so there's usually lots of parking space. There are quite a lot of parking places at the cliff top Aire just outside Boulogne.

To answer your question NO

High Steve....no we are at home...we are grounded again for a while.....
Well for many reasons...first the Fridge/freezer that stopped getting cold at the regatta field at Wilsthorpe...
This is going to cost us... 1126.00 euros... to mend in France and we are booked in at Calais Caravans Dometic agent on 4th of August to the 7th for them to do the work??? at that price....what a price, and what a long time they need to do the job...mend the Fridge/Freezer !!!.....

If I had come back to the UK a great guy called Jeff Fielding, Dometic Service Engineer at Clitheroe would do the job including labour all for £450..plus another Dometic agent in Durum would charge around the same as Jeff...BUT....the two French dealers one a RAPIDO /Dometic agent and one a BURSTNER Dometic agent are quoting 780 euros for the Dometic part and the rest 346 euros labour????...wow what a lot of difference all the Dometic agents are getting the part from Italy??....we have had to go with the French Calais dealer because it would cost us another £589 in tunnel...vet fees...diesel to get to get Jeff and back home in France...so I would end paying more about £135..to have it done in the Uk due to travelling cost's. plus if anything went wrong I would have all the travel cost again...SO the French dealers have me by the short and curlies...
And why we came back from our 6 week UK holiday... we was booked on the tunnel as the Garage rollup doors was due to be fitted 2 days after we got back.....Ah ha....the buggers did not turn up having booked them for the job early April for the 3rd of July!!!no email no phone calls to say they was not coming....in fact they had 600 euros of our money as a deposit..and then said they new nowt about the doors!!! so they rescheduled for another 7 days..to come early Thursday morning !!!! yes you have guessed they did not turn up.....so we went down to the Large PVC firm about 5 miles away and demanded our 600 euro check....and left........well well well after that we had 6 phone calls in 1 hour asking us to reconsider and they would fit the new garage doors tomorrow....NO NO we have had enough....so we said this afternoon maybe with a discount for our time wasted....so within 1 hour they was here fitting them....if not they would have had a set of brown roll up motorised doors that won't fit else where...plus the two remotes are not working ??? they have to come back.
SO Steve sorry we are not able to see you at Calais....what a shame
