just had a phone call from ford, they inform me that my motorhome doesn't need a service till next year (2 years or 30,000 miles) well that will save me a few bob.
but i might change the oil and filter just as a matter of course.
also there is no cambelt, i think it's a chain, so that doesn't need changing till 150,000 miles, another money saver.

I've just done mine. About 5000 miles. It's like black soup. I don't trust these ridiculous long oil service intervals at all.

Chain - way to go ( if done properly ) - especially after just doing my daughter's Astra belt - 40K on one of those. And we had our MH done on age, which was a good thing because a tensioner pulley was on the way out at only 14K.

I agree with you,
I know modern semi synthetic oils have a greater service interval but it can do no harm to change more frequently.. but so much depends on how the vehicle is used.
If it were a commercial vehicle thrashing the M ways every day it may well knock up 30k in well under a year.. on the other hand few motorhomes will do 30k in two years and with lots of cold starts and shortish journeys more frequent changing must be worth while.. that's my take on it anyway..
