Going to an event in Barrow on Friday 4th Nov. Council appears to be motorhome friendly and allow overnighting in 3 or 4 car parks.
Barrow park is the best one for us, one review from a local resident who is a motorhomer said he wouldn't stop there overnight but other reviews are favorable.
Any comments from anyone.

Thanks.

We stayed at the Abbey ruins. It is free but you have to book with the Council. No facilities but fantastic views!
I read access is tight and we are going to the Dock Museme in the evening a bit of a long walk.

A search of Google maps for the Docks Museum, B in F, shows a MH parked in the car park... worth a phone call to see if they'll let you overnight?

If you decide against going through the Dale's on the way, there is a nice run via A69 towards Carlisle, turn left at Haydon Bridge onto A686 to Alston and Penrith.

Down the A6 to Shap and then Kendal. There are a couple of overnights at Alston, another on the top of Hartside Pass.

There is a nice Aire type stop in Kendal, Spital Caravans. Or you can overnight at the Railway/Steamer Jetty at Lakeside on Windermere just up from Newby Bridge.
