Going down to Southern Spain in March for a month and thinking of leaving the MH somewhere secure for 3 weeks and taking the bike (we tow motorbike behind) to Barcelona and catching ferry to Rome we have looked at prices and seems to about £200 or so return, ride the bike around Italy for 3 weeks then reverse the route with another month in Spain.Anybody used this ferry?

Came from Rome (Civatevechia) on Grimaldi Lines to Barcelona, only one way, at cost of about €315 without cabin. Good crossing, excellent ship/crew etc., happy to recommend them. Why on earth considering leaving camper van behind, seems to defeat the object of ownership, but each to his own I guess.

Foreign ferry prices never cease to amaze me. We have been spoiled by DFDS Dover routes prices, but shh, dont tell anybody.

Should have said we travelled mid August when most ferry companies just "think of a number" which they know they will get away with, travel time and cost about same as Portsmouth/Plymouth to Northern Spain at the same time of year.
