My children bought me a Cadac Safari Chef 2 Lite Low Pressure Gas BBQ, to use in my newish van when I pick it up next month, it's currently being fitted with Gaslow with the connection point in the compartment door. What kind of connection do I need to go from the Bar-B-Que to the connection point?
Thanks.

As above, you need a dedicated BBQ gas point so that you are feeding gas that is already regulated to your Cadac.

The BBQ point is normally taken from the internal gas pipe work system, and plumbed to an external gas point which is mounted through the bodywork, the same way as the ehu, and water fill is. If you are having refillable system fitted that would indicate to me that your not a gas diy”er, so probably worth asking for a price to fit whilst new cylinders are being fitted.

This is the external point I fitted to mine.

Sorry, not very good at explaining, there is a dedicated Bar-B-Q point on the side of the van, what I need is the tube that goes from the van point to the Cadac, and I assume a connector to the Cadac?

You need to check which type the bbq point is, there are at least 2 different ones. Ask whoever is fitting the bottles maybe?

Identify the type of external BBQ gas point which is fitted to the van, this will determine which van end adapter is required (e.g. Bullfinch is one example type). The gas supply from this external BBQ point should already be ‘regulated’.

The van end adapter needs to be securely fitted to a length of gas hose, typically circa 2m in length and orange in colour, with a hose clip.

The BBQ end of the hose is then attached to the Cadac BBQ gas connector with a hose clip,

Our Cadac BBQ gas connector looks like this (Grillo Chef), but could be model dependent...

Some example gas BBQ fitting examples here (I‘ve never used and have no connection with this vendor, just used for example purposes)

You don't go from the filling point on the van you go from a point after the regulator so that the pressure is right, you will get a connector with the BBQ outlet point so then you just need pipe to your Cadac, as somebody else said this needs to be done professionally.

Looks like this is all getting mixed up here.

Do you have an external outlet on the van to plug in a cadac?

If you do you need to know which outlet it is to get the correct end to plug into the outlet.

If you don’t have an outlet you need one.

As post above a length of orange hose is then fitted to the cadac and connector for the outlet.
Use hose clips on both ends to hold in place.

Hello ginster ,I think there is a little confusion re. Your requirements as I see it you need a short connection push fit adapter to connect to your bbq point there are two types ,and are about 3£ each You will need to find out which one fits your point then you need lpg hose usually red and priced per metre ,then there is screwed adapter available from Cadac which connects to the bbq.then 2 jubilee type clips to ensure attachments are securely fixed to gas hose . I hope this helps .im sorry I could not put any pictures up for you to make it clearer

Ask the folk fitting the connection point to supply the hose and connector. 😀

can someone recommend a small two person BBQ ?

Also we have the Bullfinch point on our van, what will I need to go from that to the BBQ ? Thanks, I've only ever used the throw away type.

We have the first version of this Cadac, perfect for 2 (or more) people...

Bullfinch adapter?...

If there is BBQ point fitted then usually they come with the connection to attach to the hose which goes to the BBQ. All you need then is a length of gas hose (which again I assume your dealer can supply) to connect BBQ to gas outlet connection.

I thought Cadacs came with a length of hose and the connector to the BBQ. Only needs the van connector as per Geo above?
He says he already has a BBq point fitted on the side of the van but not what sort it is
even though cadac may supply pipe and connector it may not fit
now he can see why, as can anyone else who is thinking BBQs
Also my Cadac came with only a short length of pipe too close to use next to MoHo

Removed as thought it was filler point ⚠️😂

Please don't, not recommended and dangerous.
Got that slightly wrong too 😂 the outlet is fir refilling the gas bottles (being fitted by the manufacturers dealers engineer) the Bar-B-Q outlet is alreadin in situ and separate from the gas filling point.

Thanks for all your advice, I'll check which type of outlet it is and get the correct parts (y)::bigsmile:

Table top model about 30/35cm
