Baltic Wharf lease extended again….

If anyone is intending to go to Baltic Wharf after November 28th check if your van meets the Clean Air Zone requirements as 28 Nov is when the zone starts.

Just read that there’s another extension to 26 March. But the last 2 weeks they are now charging £42 a night!!
Considering there’s zero investment on that site it looks like blatant profiteering.
We we’re there a couple of weeks ago, love the place but sadly at that price they are taking the p*ss

We don’t meet the Clean Air requirements and there’s no way to get to Baltic Wharf without going through it. As far as I’m aware there are no exemptions either for transiting to BW. But, at the prices they charge we wouldn’t be going anyway

Just checked ours 2014 transit base it's £9 a day so compared to the site cheap!

Out of interest - is the charge just for the day you drive into the zone? Do you have to pay for the days you are within the zone or the day that you leave the zone?

It's a good question to which I don't know the answer. I would have thought you only pay for the days you are using your vehicle. I looked up the charge on the government website it might be there or I'm pretty sure that the site would advise.

I can’t find the answers on the website so I have filled in an enquiry form and will report back when I get a reply.

Impossible to say as don't know their input costs vs revenue.

Basically you have to pay for each day that you drive within the zone. If you are parked within the zone then there is no charge to pay. Therefor if you spent 7 days at the Baltic wharf site you would only have to pay for 2 days the day of entry and the day of exit. As long as you didn't move in between.
